Paranormal Activity Review

The scariest movie ever is something that shouldn’t be tossed around loosely. Paranormal Activity is a very scary movie, and for many it will be the scariest movie ever. The film was filmed with a budget of a little over $11,000 and shot in 7 days. Oren Peli does it all in this film as the Director, Writer, Producer, and editor.  The film stars two new actors, Katie Featherston, and Micah Sloat ( they use their real names).

The story was a simple one, Katie and Micah are a very young couple who are experiencing weird activity in their home.  Micah, buys a camera to try to catch the apparition on camera. The activity only gets worse after this and slowly build up to one of the scariest endings I’ve ever seen ( depending on which ending watched).

The film is often called this years Blair Witch Project, and on many levels it is but at the same time it is its own original being.  The story is actually believable and you begin to feel as if you are watching a home movie more so than a fictional movie.  The beginning is the only part of the movie that may have been a bit long, with only two characters throughout the majority of the movie.  The redeeming quality of the first part of the film is the chemistry and great acting Katie and Micah bring to the movie. The second half of the film it really takes off with horrifying events and great dialogue you begin to be caught in everything on the screen. I would recommend this movie to anyone looking for a good scare.
