Cabin Fever Review

Eli Roth is paying homage to old-school horror in a big way in Cabin Fever. Five college friends go on a sort of vacation. They all have the same thing in mind, drinking, drugs, and some good old fashioned premarital sex. The four friends are then killed one after the other. The only catch is this time the killer is unseen, its not a human, not a monster, but a horrible skin virus. The formula is very familiar to the successful horror films of the 70′s and 80′s.

The virus can be contained, the irony of it all is the friends are too squeamish to deal with the situation in a sensible, mature way. In the end you see the key players are more or less get what they all deserve. The movie is genuine horror at its best. The gore and horror are balanced by several hilarious sections in the movie. The movie ends in the form of all classic horror films.

The gore factor in Cabin Fever is second to none. Dogs tearing humans apart, skin falling off, humans rotting. Cabin Fever is a gore fest the whole way through. If you are looking for an A horror film you’ve found it.
