Oklahoma may not be known for its great supply for haunted locations but it does have several.  One of those is located in southern Oklahoma. Ft Washita are located on the Washita river.  Ft. Washita is located north of the city of Durant. The actual address for this location which i myself have visited a few times is  3348 State Road 199, Durant, OK. Ft Washita is actually now open to the public. Its a great historical landmark.

Ft. Washita was built in 1842, it lived a short life and was destroyed by confederate soliders, who captured and overran it. It has since been reconstructed.

There is not a definite  time but it is thought to be around 1842 – 1861. A women, known as Aunt Jane, was murdered by what many people believe to have been confederate soldiers who were trying to find her buried money. They never found it and killed her as a result. Her grave is on the grounds of Ft. Washita .

Below are several manifestations reported on the grounds of Ft. Washita.

Some people have claimed that Aunt Jane was beheaded. They have also reported seeing her apparition wondering the grounds headless.

Some Believe she is actually a bully and haunted a Dr. Stalcup in the early 20th century. It has been reported that  Aunt Jane’s ghost occasionally possesed Dr. Stalcups young daughter Molly.  Dr. Stalcup and many witnesses say Aunt Jane threatened to cut of Molly’s hair. Mrs. Stalcup kneeled down to pray and Aunt Jane backed down.

It is still haunted to this day.
