H2: Halloween 2

Posted April 28, 2009 at 3:57 pm by Jeff

Rob Zombie is in post production of his film H2. I have to admit I am very very excited. Walking out of the theatre after the first movie, I felt let down. I decided to see it again and I realized that this movie is great. What’s the point of watching the same movie we all know and love.

It was a re-imagining. This is how I feel about the second movie. I am a huge dork when it comes to Halloween and Myers theories but I really liked the first movie and I think I am going to really like the second movie. A lot of people are not used to the way Rob Zombie films are made, but in my opinion its a very raw awesome style that makes them so good.

If you didn’t like the first movie I have this to say. Rob, himself, said that he wasn’t satisfied with the movie. He wanted to make it two movies, but the studio wouldn’t approve that. I think given the circumstances this movie is even more legendary then the originals. I am positive I will get a ton of comments calling me crazy. I don’t care. I’ll just wait and see on August 28th.

Hack!

Posted March 9, 2009 at 7:16 am by Jeff

I have to admit being a computer nerd and when reading this title I thought it was something completely different. I didn’t hear any about this movie, but I decided to go ahead and watch it. I admit this is one of those horror films that believes its smarter and funnier than it really is. Basically the movie starts with several students picked to go onto a field trip to study wildlife. They don’t get to start because o a series of cliché horror movie murders happen.

There were a couple things I instantly thought was cool about this movie. For one, it had Winnie Cooper, ok thats not her real name but Danica McKellar was an instant enjoyment for me. Also, a funny guy from the tv series scrubs, Travis Schuldt is also on this movie, although not for very long he is still in the movie.

Now, getting to the movie, I really enjoyed the fact that they started basically copying off older horror movies and that was the point. The killers in the movie were hack movie directors and writers and they were basically trying to recreate these moments. My favorite part without giving too much away was the ring sequence. I give this movie 3 out of 5 stars.

The Tale Of Haunted Mike

Posted January 31, 2009 at 1:08 pm by Jeff

This is my favorite of the short films I am going to post today. Its a great story and reminds me of the good old days of watching Tales From The crypt except these are much more up to date with a lot more edge and fear.  I also want to note that I believe that the future of horror will be Fewdio.com. That isn’t a suck up. I get nothing from Fewdio I honestly believe this type of horror shorts will be the new wave.

Top 5 Horror Movie Posters

Posted December 3, 2008 at 9:48 pm by Jeff

I love horror movie posters. I’m not talking about the new photoshop images, im talking about the old school posters. They were original, scary, and sometimes very very messed up. I’ve collected the top 5 here

for you. I hope you enjoy.

5. A Nightmare On Elm street.

We all know about this movie. The Wes Craven flick released in 1984 about a serial killer Freddy Krueger who kills teenagers in their dreams.

4.  House on Haunted HIll

This movie was released in 1959. Frederick Loren has invited five strangers to a party of a lifetime. He is offering each of them $10,000 if they can stay the night in a house. House on Haunted Hill has since become an all time horror classic.

3. The Maniac

This movie was released in 1980. It was obviously back in a time when bad horror movie spin offs were found everywhere. This movies plot consists of a serial killer who kills young women in New York to redeem himself from the abuse he got from his mother as a child. The movie isn’t too good. But hey the poster is great.

2. Beast of Blood

Directed by Eddie Romero this 1971 flick depicted a mad scientist who creates a monster. After, he cuts the monsters head off he keeps him alive with a special serum the mad scientist has created. Again, the poster is great you can decide about the movie.

1. Brain Dead aka Dead Alive

This movie has been hailed by many as one of the greatest zombie movies ever made. Peter jackson directed this 1992 movie. Braindead is often cited as the goriest film ever made and, according to Wikipedia, used more fake blood than any other movie in history. Called by the some the best zombie scene ever  happens when Lionel confronts the hordes with his trusty lawn-mower, prior to facing his super-charged undead mother. In my opinion this is a great movie and best of all best horror movie poster i’ve seen.

Dawn Of The Dead (2004)

Posted November 25, 2008 at 7:54 pm by Dave

Under the award winning direction of Zach Snyder, the 2004 remake of the 1978 screenplay from the mind of George Romero won the Golden Trailer for best horror/thriller movie for the year.

Unlike most horror movies of the day, this movie leaves out nonsensical themes like “love conquers all, cuddles and family values,” this one cuts right to the chase with one liner’s like “Tell him to shoot Burt Reynolds”. Cut to headshot.

This movie is entertaining to the audience of today, complete with armies of the undead, being decapitated with chainsaws and main characters being turned into flesh eating zombies.

This will keep you on the edge of your seat until the moment that the zombies enter your living room and get you as well.

The 9th Circle

This is a two part short film that was brilliantly done. It reminds me of older 80′s films. Worth watching and has some very frightening moments.
