STEPHEN KING’S: THE TALISMAN by Mathieu Ratthe

Posted January 3, 2010 at 12:12 am by Jeff

This short film is a demo scene from the book The Talisman written by Stephen King and Peter Straub. Mathieu Ratthe is a very talented film maker and this demo scene really proves it. I would have to say this is one of the most well done and entertaining short films I’ve ever seen.

Like i’ve said before each of these short films is a masterpiece in short horror films. I would love to see a zombie movie from these guys one of these days but until then these short films are plenty to keep you up at night for a very long time.

Cleansed

Posted February 1, 2009 at 11:50 am by Jeff

Cleansed is another film from the Nightmare House series that fewdio produced. This another long one but it proves that fewdio can do long feature length films if they needed. They know how to progress a short film and continue the suspense the audience fears right until the very end of the movie. I think i enjoy the ten minute movies longer than the shorter ones only because it gives you a more personal feel for the movie. You learn more about the character granted its only a couple more minutes but I feel the character is just as important as the story behind it. I would give this one a 5/5 for just the progression alone but also because its damy scary. Enjoy.

The Clown Is Waiting…. Again

Posted January 14, 2009 at 10:19 pm by Jeff

A few months back I posted a short film title The Clown Is Waiting. I have some brand new information regarding this short film and a new short film from the directors of this film.

Ed, who was a huge part of this movie was kind enough to provide us with this information. “The horror short of ours that you posted was made with the kind assistance of the effects team that worked on Wolf Creek. We even borrowed a dead body from that film. If you look at the cellar scene at the end of Can I Call You you will see a corpse chained to the wall. That is the very same one as seen near the end of Wolf Creek.
We are currently back onto working on Gone Missing. It’s based on a frightening cat like creature that is reported to be lurking in the Australian wilderness. The remains of its horrific livestock kills have been found dangling from trees. Gone Missing will be like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets An American Werewolf in London.   The effects team that did Wolf Creek have already begun their special work in preparation.

Too Good To Be True

Posted December 7, 2008 at 12:31 am by Jeff

Its funny because for the dead travel fast is based in name at least by the book Dracula so its odd that this is the first vampire post. Regardless I found a pretty nice vampire short film. Its hard to find higher quality vampire films but here is one titled Too Good To Be True.

Disturbance 2013

Posted November 23, 2008 at 1:00 am by Jeffrey

At for the dead travel fast I try to bring the best parts of the horror genre together. This is one of those times I not only found a quality horror short film.. but I find a gem. Directoer, Writer, Actor, and Producer Joe Burke and Studio Elantra Films put together an amazing story.

The Imdb says “DISTURBANCE 2013 tells the horrific story of three friends who find a mysterious girl’s dead body in their bathtub during the aftermath of a wild and crazy birthday bash the night before. Filled with gripping suspense, emotional drama, and a slightly dark comedic edge, this short film serves as a window to the darker side of the human soul. ”

That in my opinion sums up this movie. Its emotional. The actors are all amazing. Its very believable. Keep in mind it is pretty dark. That being said, This one I believe you are sure to enjoy.
