The Myrtles Plantation

The Myrtles Plantation and Gardens Courtesy of Lagniappe Tours, Foundation for Historical Louisiana es Plantation was built in 1796 by General David Bradford. The home is supposedly Haunted by many ghosts. It has been called by many people One Of Americas Most Haunted Homes. Allegedly the home was house to at least 10 murders. There has only ever been one murder confirmed.The most popular ghost tale of the Myrtles is that of Chloe. Chloe was an angry slave who murdered the wife and two daughters of Clark Woodruff in a fit of jealousy and great anguish.

It is said that the two children can and have been seen playing on the veranda.Another manifestation is that the Grand Piano has often been heard playing by itself. Its plays only one terrifying chord.

The Myrtles Plantation is located off US 61 North, in St.Francisville, Louisiana. It is open daily for tours 9:00am to 5: 00pm, with mystery tours at 8:00pm Friday and Saturday evenings; there is a fee for admission.
