1. Drag Me To Hell
A loan officer fighting for a promotion at her job decides to deny a very desperate elderly woman an extension on her mortgage and all hell breaks lose. The elderly woman curses her to hell. A highly entertaining and original film. Director Sam Raimi goes old school with a compilation of what he does best in horror films.
2. Paranormal Activity
Compared to the Blair Witch Project Paranormal Activity was a complete shock. The movie presents a new cute couple living in a starter home. They experience noises and decide to film it. They soon experience terrifying results. Seeing this movie in theaters is the only way to live the real horror. This is the most terrifying movie I’ve seen in years.
3. Trick R Treat
This movie had been floating around for a very long time and eventually went straight to DVD. The movie was full of several short stories all running together to produce a very scary film. The acting and stories are all amazing. This one had to make it to the top.
4. Zombieland
Who would have thought this movie would have been as successful as it was. The hit exhibits a group of survivors of the zombie apocalypse heading across the country each in a different destination. This movie was perfect. The movie was hilarious but at the same time left for some actual terrifying moments.
5. The Collector
The Collector starts and never looks back. This 88 minute film plays like a short film. The hero is actually a criminal, a gentle criminal but hey aren’t they all. This movie wasn’t marketed much at all but was a real genuinely original horror film.
